ACEDA set to deliver state of the art CCTV and network cabling solution at Northumbria University’s NESST Centre 12347

Working in conjunction with construction partners – Castle Building Services, we are set to deliver a state-of-the-art CCTV and Category 6A network cabling solution at Northumbria University’s new development – The North East Space Skills and Technology (NESST) Centre.

The £50 million facility, developed by Northumbria University with investment from the UK Space Agency and the space and satellite division of Lockheed Martin UK, will provide cutting-edge facilities for world-leading space research and development.

The creation of the NESST Centre will unite industry with academia. It is expected to support the creation of over 350 jobs and inject over £260 million into the North East economy over the next 30 years. The new facility will be located in the heart of Northumbria University’s Newcastle city campus and will be a new national space asset.

Northumbria University is a research intensive university, with a culture of collaboration and innovation. It was named UK University of the Year 2022 by the Times Higher Education and Modern University of the Year 2025 by The Times and The Sunday Times.

Michael Lynch, Technical Accounts Director said, “We are delighted to support the University with this flagship project that will be recognised nationally as a leading facility in space skills, research and technology. We worked closely with the University’s Security and IT teams to design and develop a robust internal and external CCTV and network cabling solution that will meet the demands and security requirements of the centre.
