Disabled Refuge

ACEDA provide vital, fire resistant, two-way emergency voice communication (EVC) systems. These systems are located in commercial buildings above one storey to assist disabled persons, who cannot easily use fire escapes in the event of a fire or emergency. These areas are designated as refuge areas which are designed to be a safe place to wait until help arrives and evacuation is safe. Each system is highly reliable and provides an essential lifeline to the most vulnerable.

ACEDA work closely with clients and consultants to design an effective solution that spans across multiple floors and in key locations. Our in house experts can advise on industry best practice and legal requirements in line with BS 5839:9-2017 and The Equality Act 2010 for an effective disabled refuge solution.

Each installation is tested and commissioned by expert Engineers as equipment failure is not an option in an emergency situation.

Key Disabled Refuge solutions include:

  • Two-way wall mounted communication sets
  • Hands free emergency call boxes
  • Combined systems inc. accessible toilet alarms
  • Support & Preventative Maintenance
