Works underway at the Phoenix building for Teesside University

Works underway at the Phoenix building for Teesside University 12150

We have recently been contracted to undertake some refurbishment works in the Teesside University Phoenix Building to accommodate the relocation of the International Business School (TUIBS). The new facilities will provide students with modern, adaptable, digital classrooms for a professional and inspiring study environment. Our work involves upgrading some of the data cabling systems across several floors and providing point to point CAT6A links.

The Phoenix Building was the vital first phase of the Digital City development in Middlesbrough and is described as the ‘campus heart’. In 2015 the entire building benefited from a £6m revamp to provide students with a contemporary, functional workspace.

In addition to the Phoenix building works, we have completed various other projects for the University over the summer period including the ground floor library refurbishment, various adds, moves & changes, outlets for wi-fi moves and a wireless bridge.

The University are one of our major clients and we have worked with them since 2002. We currently provide data and fibre optic cabling services as part of the NEUPC framework.

Paul Warnes, Commercial Director said, “We are well underway with refurbishment works in the Phoenix Building in conjunction with other framework partners. We have worked with the University for over 20 years and during that time have gained an excellent understanding of the site and the connectivity requirements.

“Our Engineers have invaluable experience and knowledge of the site and can competently complete projects of various sizes and nature to the Universities exacting standards. Retaining a customer for over 20 years is a testament to our high standards of work and our ability to maintain customer satisfaction throughout the lifecycle of a project.”
