World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day 3713

Monday 10th October 2022 marks World Mental Health Day. The theme for this year, set by the World Federation for Mental Health is ‘making health and wellbeing for all a global priority’. Mental health and wellbeing is something which affects us all, however its not always a priority for many.

As a business, we would like to encourage our employees and the wider community to prioritise their mental health. Taken from the NHS every mind matters page, here are some suggestions on how we might go about this.

  • Reframe unhelpful thoughts
  • Be in the present
  • Aim to get good quality sleep
  • Connect with others
  • Live a healthy life

Further information can be found here Top tips to improve your mental wellbeing.

Everyone is different, what works for one person doesn’t necessarily work for another. There are various initiatives that you can take part in, however we found the ‘Mental Health Check In’ tool by Jacobs particularly useful.

The free tool was created to help users understand their current state of mind and provides proactive strategies for personal mental health development. By completing the check-in, its hoped that people will be better equipped to understand how they are currently coping and assess early indicators of any challenges.

You can access the tool here: World’s Biggest Mental Health Check In

Once you have completed the survey, there are some suggestions of how you might make some improvements to help to improve your mental health.

As a business, we would like to openly encourage our staff, clients and our wider community to engage with each other and offer support where needed.
