ACEDA have recently commenced works at the new Metro rail depot in Gosforth 3588

The new rail depot is a £70 million investment to safely demolish the existing depot, making way for a new, purpose-built facility. The new depot is expected to be fully operational by 2025 and will be the base for Metro maintenance and repair activities.

Housing a fleet of 45 new Metro trains, the 12-acre site will compromise of inspection roads and pits, cranes, jacks, test facilities and automatic train checking equipment.  The project will be implemented in stages to enable the legacy fleet to continue operating from a temporary deport which has been constructed in Howden.

As a systems integrator, ACEDA are working with key project stakeholders to deliver a multi-disciplined solution which compromises of IP CCTV, Access Control, Intercoms, Public Address System, Network Infrastructure, Audio Visual and IP Telephony.

Each element has been meticulously planned to ensure key elements are delivered within the client’s timeframe. We are privileged to be a part of such a flagship scheme for the Northeast.
