Lincolnshire Offshore Windfarm

Lincolnshire Offshore Windfarm 653

The Lincolnshire offshore wind farm is located off the coast of Skegness, North of the wash off the East coast of England. The site consists of 75 x 3.6MW wind turbines connected to an offshore substation, the offshore substation is then connected via 2 export cables to a grid connection point located at Warpole.

Key Services

  • Fibre Termination
  • OTDR Testing
  • AUTO CAD Fibre Optic Network Drawings

Design Phase

ACEDA were commissioned to provide a fibre optic network design, which included the fibre termination and testing across the Lincolnshire field.

During the initial phases of the project, ACEDA provided the client with detailed AUTO CAD drawings, detailing the termination and patching requirements to provide connectivity between the turbines.

ACEDA attended regular meetings during key stages of the design phase to ensure each aspect of the fibre network was completed to the client’s exact specification and requirements.

Project Overview

After the design phase, ACEDA undertook the fibre optic terminating and testing on the Lincolnshire Offshore Wind Farm. Specialist teams of Engineers work inside each turbine to terminate the fibre optic cables and analyse the connectivity using OTDR test equipment.

Comprehensive test results of the fibre optic network will be provided to the client for each turbine on each string.

ACEDA strategically manage each team of Engineers to ensure strict project timescales are adhered to and the work is completed to an exceptional standard of quality.
